For we speak here of a less-specific devotion, a passage of time and experiences accompanying the indefinable communion of one soul with another. We speak here of the groanings and mutterings and confidential whispers that make up a steady dialogue the faithful disciple has with his Master. This is the conversation Brother Lawrence called "an habitual, silent, and secret conversation of the soul with God."

Thank you so much for sharing what God has given you. Our team will be going to share I Never Called Him Lord on Jan 17th and possibly again on March 5. This is geared toward teens from 12-21. It is a pleasure to be able to use this drama. I believe God will be glorified and many will come to know the reality of eternity.

Blessings! Blessings! Blessings! I discovered your site several years ago when we performed I Never Called Him Lord These scripts are inspired. Thank you for making them available for production. We will be performing Even Logic on Thursday night April 8th. Have been praying and memorizing. And I feel certain that God has added another deposit to your account in Heaven and Lord willing we will be helping to bring some people to the the realization of their need for Christ.
Thank you,
D

Hi David!
Thanks you for your faithfulness to the Lord in keeping up your work for him! I really, really am blessed by "The Journey".

David,
I just wanted to share with you that I performed the monologue "I Never Called Him Lord" for our small church on Easter Sunday as part of a message for turning over your life to Jesus as the risen Lord. I can't tell you how much the script hit me personally and what an effect it had on our small congregation. We had 3 people accept Jesus at the end of the service, which is what this journey is all about!
Thanks!
Bill

Hi David,
I am totally blown away... A friend just sent me a link to your site. It is great ! I am in the middle of reading the Journey and am so excited. I have a biblical theater company called ENOPION (Hebrew for "within sight of the Lord") I am struggling with a lot of the issues that your book outlines. Thanks so much.

Dear Mr. Lampel,
I am a twenty-one year old drama enthusiast and am currently ministering at a church in Levice, Slovakia. A few years ago, I had a desire in my heart to teach drama in Slovakia after seeing a Christmas play put on by a church youth group. This summer, I returned to Slovakia to volunteer as part of the local outreach ministry. I decided to stay the rest of the year and God granted me the opportunity to fulfill my desires - He's letting me organize the annual Christmas play as a benefit performance for the local outreach ministry! I would very much appreciate your prayers for the cast and crew, as well as the audience. The church here is very weak in terms of evangelising to their neighbors. I would love it if God would inspire the congregation members to invite all their neighbors - Christian and non-Christian - to experience God's wonder in this play. As well, many of the cast and crew are part of the youth group, and don't seem to have much confidence in their talents and abilities. I would hope that God would build them up in His image, confident and sure of who He created them to be. Above all, I hope that God's glory will be brought about in this play, in the lives of the cast and crew members and in the lives of the audience. Thank you very much for your support and for offering such a wonderful resource.
Sincerely,Kristina

First of all, Mr and Mrs Lampel, I have looked over many of your plays and you are very talented and I read your views in the 'about us' section. You seem to be very devoted and committed to the Living God. God Bless You!!!
The young adults at our Church are starting up a committed drama team and we had our first practice and audition on Oct. 23. The audition was for Judas in I Never Called Him Lord. Our Lead guitarist poured himself into this role and performed magnificently. A truly powerful piece of drama you have written!!

I just wanted you to know that our church presented The Table Inside the tree at our Christmas Eve services and was very well received. People appreciated the portrayal of Joseph as a man still struggling with some issues and yet with a deep sense of what God was calling him to do as an earthly father. I will be continuing to use the resources you make available in the coming year and thanks so much for your efforts to advance the Kingdom through drama. Our church is Ellerslie Road Baptist Church in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

Dear David,
My son Mark is a third grader who attends a Christian school in Florida. He is a little boy with an amazing heart for Jesus and has preached the gospel, believe it or not, resolutely and with the biblical truth (which could only be the annointing of the Holy Spirity) since age 3, everywhere he goes! He had his first auditioned speaking part as the lead in his school play this past Christmas and gave a dramatic performance. He auditions today for an opportunity to be one of two students from his elementary to have an opportunity to compete at the state level for dramatic interpretation at the Florida League of Christian Schools where he himself has chosen your incredible monologue of I Never Called Him Lord. I was not surprised that he would choose such a complex character, even at his age... he wept, literally, which surprised even him when he began to describe hell... "where I live now there is no understanding." After he had memorized the script and really had a handle on the character of Judas and a full understanding that it was his choice to deny that Christ was indeed God, just as each of us have equally the same choice to make, all he could utter was thank you Jesus over and over. David, all I can say is thank you... for sharing your gift so selflessly, for trusting God to provide, and I pray that He will stir the hearts of those, like me who choose to use your beautiful words. Bless you for your kindness and obedience to Him. What an amazing thing you have done, I cannot wait to see the reactions of those that see this little boy's portrayal of the ultimate betrayal not to God, but to ourselves, what torment hell must be... seperation from our Savior and the understanding that the choice was always within us alone.

Dear David,
I simply wanted to say thanks for your excellent scripts. After spending hours on the internet and reading countless scripts, most of which were silly and contrived, I can honestly say that your material is the best stuff out there...period! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent.

Hello,
My name is D. and I would like to thank you so much for this website. I have a group of friends that do christian dramas with my family. Our group runs from the ages 3 to 17, being the oldest. I have been praying about the next play we are scheduled to perform and I asked God to show me a website that was free of charge where I could get comedic Christian Christmas plays. Everything I googled was junk except for this sight. Thank you so much. Below are the details of our play. We are a group called Performers for Christ started by yours truly. I began the program two years ago after learning that the church in Loveland, Colorado needed another drama group. We do not charge admission, it is all for the Lord. Again, thank you so much for your websight. God Bless!

Hello David,
I just wanted to say how thankful I am for such a powerful script I Never Called Him Lord. Our performance will be this Sunday as stated in my last post but such an amazing thing has transpired. The gentleman from our church that I asked to do the part of Judas read the script and came back to me and said that he thought that he couldn’t do it. I asked him why and he said I can't make it through the script without crying. I asked him do you really think that if you had been Judas in real life that you wouldn’t be crying? Anyhow, he is doing this part and it is so awesome! I can't believe just how anointed this script really is. None of my actors can get over how great this script is. Here's a funny ...some of my actors that are normally in a production are working in the children's church on Easter Sunday. It hit me that I needed to open the dress rehearsal to them so that they could see it for themselves and they are all so excited to get to see this one performed. Please continue that there will be such a powerful anointing that everyone present for the performance will have their lives not just touched but changed for His glory-sinners and saved alike!!!
Lastly, I'd like to say if there is anyone out there that wants to reach the lost with a powerful script they don’t have to look any further than this one. It's tops!!!

Thank you so much for the blessing of your website. I have read your latest book on acting/directing and our church has been working on the concept of "excellence". Our last retreat used your resources as the main study.
I am writing to request prayer for our performances of The Choice on 3/26-27. God has truly blessed the cast and we have an abundance of tech support. We have been praying for health of all, unity, and wisdom for myself. Our desire is to exalt Our Lord and offer our gifts as tools for Him to use. This is a delightful script which we believe will speak to non-believers. Thank you for your prayers. May God continue to abundantly bless your ministry.

Who Do You Say That I Am. Our newest pastoral ministry, the Drama Dept., produced its first public performance on 3/19 and 3/20. We chose this script for its message of our Lord's sacrifice and its wonderful rendition of three possible answers to Christ's question in the title. Thank you for allowing us to use this script! The cast received a standing ovation on the second night - our prayers at every rehearsal and performance were that God would receive the glory and that your work and ours would touch a soul to come to Christ. God's blessings on you, and, again, thanks for allowing us to use your work for Christ!
"...God gives us the talents, we give Him the glory..."

I just wanted to thank you for the quality drama you provide free of charge. Being a small church and no budget for extras (like drama & music), I am always searching the internet for something to use that has a message. (We don't want to entertain and leave the message unclear.) We used Vacancy at Christmas, and Who Do You Say that I Am? at Easter. Both were well received and our drama crew enjoyed doing them very much. I was also able to add music by soloists that complimented the themes. Thank you again for the great pieces you make available. They are definitely quality in my book! Sandy

I am part of Chancel Repertory Theatre in the Philippines, we are a non-stock, non-profit theatre arts company with a mission of spreading the gospel thru theatre arts. And we are using A Calling to the Stage as our material in our Acting Lab, Just want you to know, I really appreciate your book! As a non-stock non-profit theatre arts company, we can relate to almost every situation in the book! God bless!

I'm so encouraged to see a site like this....I am very interested in drama as a ministry and have directed several dramas in our church. I was never really satisfied with the quality of the dramas I was finding so this site is truly a blessing. Not only the access to dramas but the sharing of your writing. You write from your soul...I can tell because I do the same thing. I once started writing a devotional but had to stop because my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I had to take over the "bread-winning". Anyway, your website is beautiful, your writing is beautiful and I'm so thankful that God has put this desire in your heart to write. I just wanted to encourage you today. Thank you and may our Father continue to bless you and your family.

I really enjoy every Journey I receive. I personally use them working with our adult drama team to keep them constantly reminded of what God wants from them in their lives. I love His Company dramas. I go on line and read them at least twice a week. They are just as good as some daily devotions that I have read.
